Day-by-day plan

Days 1–3: Marrakech: Jemaa el-Fnaa, souks, Bahia Palace, Majorelle Garden, hammam.
Day 4: Drive over Atlas Mountains via Tizi n'Tichka to Aït Benhaddou.
Day 5: Continue to Merzouga.
Day 6: Camel trek into Erg Chebbi; overnight in desert camp.
Day 7: Long drive to Fes via Ziz Valley.
Days 8–9: Fes medina, tanneries, day trip to Volubilis or Meknes.
Day 10: Fly out from Fes, or continue to Chefchaouen for the blue city.

Local tips

Agree taxi fares before getting in; petit taxis are metered inside cities.
Women travelers: modest clothing keeps hassle down and shows respect at religious sites.
